* Spring/Summer “Family Super Stick/Pick Up Hockey” for all ages!

This new session consist of a full two hours of ice time Thursday evenings. The first hour is Stick Time for everyone to work on skills and allow SIA’s hockey coaches to conduct their private lessons.  The next hour after we clean off the extra nets is 50 minutes from 6:25 till 7:15 of the session is called Family Pick up hockey.  This two hours session is open to all ages.

“Family Pick Up Hockey” is a fun, noncompetitive pick-up game for youth and adults.  The goal is for an enjoyable atmosphere for a low key rec hockey game for all ages and abilities. All players must wear full gear, including full face shield for anyone less than 18 years of age.

The spirit of play is important. There’s no scoreboard and no scouts in the stands. Always play to make those around you enjoy the experience.  Play to the lowest common ability level. Remember there are kids out there mixed with adults.  There will be no slap shots and no contact of any kind. A SIA Hockey coach will be part of the program to keep the pace of the game safe and to give pointers during the flow of the game. In addition to coaching and keeping the pace safe, the coach will also be dividing up teams and provide a “real game” feel calling offsides, icing, and having faceoffs after goals.

Time: Thursdays at 5:15 till 7:15pm.   Cost is $17  (no punch cards or discounts).   (This program will return to our schedule on Thursday 4/6).  Schedules and times are subject to change so please look at the schedule updates section to the right hand side of this webpage.  This is a popular session and often sells out before the session start time, so we suggest calling the rink after 12am on Thursday to prepay and hold your spot. NO MORE THAN 30 SKATERS will be allowed on this session.
For more information, call the rink at 503-625-5757 or send us an email.
