Joe Eirvin, SIA Hockey Coach

I have been a hockey coach/skating instructor for the past two years at Sherwood ice arena.  I am working towards my USA hockey coaching certification levels 1-3 this summer and I am the assistant coach of the Portland Jr. Hawks peewee hockey team.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo and have been skating ever since the age of 4.  I played amateur hockey for the St. Louis AAA Blues and the Portland Jr. Hawks.  My junior hockey experience consists of playing 2 years in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and 1 year in the United States Hockey League (USHL). I played college club hockey for St. Louis University my freshman and sophomore year of college.  I am a recent graduate of Oregon State University and hold a bachelors degree in Exercise and Sports Science (EXSS) with a Pre-therapy Allied Health option. I plan on having a career in physical therapy after I complete graduate school.

 

Schedule Updates

Recent changes to our schedule:
Updated 5/15/12

Major Change: Weekday morning Freestyle sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are being removed from our schedule for the time being. There may be some other adjustments to our morning Freestyle sessions in the summer months, so stay tuned.

We’ve added Saturday AM Stick Time back into our spring and summer schedule from 7:15-8:30am.

We’ve also added Sunday AM Stick Time to our spring and summer schedule from 10:00-11:00am.

Saturday May 19th morning Freestyle sessions will be canceled. Saturday Stick Time will be canceled on May 19th as well.

All regularly schedule events will be hosted at their normal times unless otherwise posted.
