Thursday Eve Super Sticktime
“Family Super Stick/Pick Up Hockey” for all ages. *This session will return on Thursdays starting April 6th
Outline:
This is a two hour session. 5:15-6:15 will be a normal Stick Time so everyone can work on their individual skills and SIA hockey coaches will be on the ice to conduct their private lessons. Then from roughly 6:20-7:15 the SIA coach will remove any extra nets on the ice and manage a family friendly Pick Up game with all those on this ice. This two hour session is for all ages.
What is “Family Pick Up Hockey?”
It is a fun, noncompetitive pick up game for youth and adults. The goal is an enjoyable atmosphere for a low key rec hockey game for all ages and abilities. Family open hockey encourages moms & dads, sons & daughters, even neighbors to all get out on the ice together!
Rules:
All players must wear full gear, including full face shield for anyone less than 18 years of age.
No slap shots and no contact of any kind!
Please remember our focus is for a fun time for the smaller younger children. Please watch your speed and your level of play.
Goal of this Session:
The program’s goal is to be a place for the younger children and beginning players who don’t have a league or a time during the year to enjoy the on ice game of hockey.
*The spirit of play is important. There’s no scoreboard and there are no scouts in the stands. A SIA hockey coach will be part of the program to keep the pace of the game safe and to give pointers during the flow of the game. In addition to coaching and keeping the pace safe, the coach will also be dividing up teams and provide a “real game” feel; calling offsides, icing, and having faceoffs after goals. SIA envisions this pick up hockey time to be low key, low speed hockey.
Time: Thursdays at 5:15 till 7:15 pm. Cost: $17. Historically each session has been full (sold out) each week, so we suggest calling the rink after 12pm on Thursday and prepay to hold your spot. NO MORE THAN 30 SKATERS will be allowed on this session. No reserving of a spot prior to the Thursday morning of the session.

When in doubt, tone it down. This time isn’t meant to be an upbeat game or a game to show off your skills. This is a slow play, low key, non-competitive hockey time for beginners. If you’re not a beginner and you’re not here to support the beginning players, this session is not for you.
*No punch cards or discounts *No separation of the hours for cost purposes. This will be a 6 month program and run until mid September.
