Kayla Jordan
Figure Skating /Coaching Background:
Kayla started skating when she was 11 years old; now at the age of 18 is still a competitive figure skater at the USFS Novice level for the Sherwood Figure Skating Club. She has competed regionally and nationally skating at the 2005 and 2007 National State Games of America and placing in the top 3 each year. She is working to obtain her double axel and pass her Novice Freeskate and Junior Moves in the Field. Kayla works to accomplish her goals 5 days a week along with doing off ice training. In her skating career she has attended many seminars with world and Olympic coaches including John Nicks, Scott Brown, Kathy Casey and Lorrain Borman to sharpen her skills. Kayla began as an assistant coach in 2007 for the Sherwood Ice Arena and became a coach in 2010. As she continues to work towards her coaching goals she plans on attending coaching seminars and would like to become a rated coach in the future. Kayla looks forward to being able to share her love of figure skating with others through coaching and using her skills to help other reach their goals on the ice.

Personal Background:
Kayla is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Portland Community College with hopes of being a criminal detective in the FBI. With the help of her coach and trainer Kayla overcame ACL Reconstructive surgery in 2008 and returned to figure skating in 2009. Kayla enjoys being a competitive figure skater, riding quads as a family sport and attending hockey games in her free time.
